‘Tracks” is one of two collections on display at Gallery 89. The second, “Traces,” is another conceptually rich collaboration between David Marshall and glass artist Jennifer Baker, delving into the degradation of our physical environment. Eight freestanding metal and glass sculptures depict carvings made on our landscapes by ice, water, and human interference.
To mark half a century of a flourishing artistic career, internationally acclaimed metal sculptor David Marshall has crafted a twelve-piece collection he christened ‘Tracks.” Each brass and aluminum wall mount found its inspirational source in etchings lovingly collected from a lifelong fascination with shapes observed in nature. These intricate pieces celebrate markings made by precious life forms on earth, which cannot be destroyed by the forces of nature or human hands.
